Research

The Centre for Astrophysics pursues research in a wide range of areas, includnig the astrophysics of galaxies, the physics of the Sun and Earth and the lifecycles of the stars. The staff teaching on the distance learning programmes are active researchers, involved in international collaborations pushing back the frontiers of astronomy. They also have extensive experience in teaching in face-to-face mode and bringing their science to the public, including children, through talks and practical sessions.
