Invited public talk by BSc student

11th March 2012

One of the students on our BSc (Hons) in Astronomy has been invited to give a series of talks to the Newcastle Astronomical Society.

Water on the Moon

Estelle Asmodelle, currently a distance learning student on our BSc (Hons) in Astronomy, has recently given a talk on 'Water on the Moon' at Newcastle Astronomical Society in Australia (www.nas.org.au).

Estelle regularly writes news items for Australia’s largest science publication, Cosmos magazine, and having seen her work, NAS invited her to give a series of presentations on astronomy.

The first one, entitled 'Water on the Moon', took place on Friday 3rd February 2012: it went on for 1 hour 8 minutes, with 25 minutes question time – the reports are that everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

Estelle is now booked in to give another 5 presentations over the next year. Well done!!
