Alston Observatory Weekend

This year's Alston Observatory weekend for our Astronomy and Cosmology distance learning students takes place on 1-3 March. Students meet staff and fellow students in an informal setting to discuss topics related to their courses. The weekend proved very popular again this year and it was fully subscribed well before the booking deadline.

Staff and Students from the Jeremiah Horrocks Institute of the University of Central Lancashire are again participating at this year's AstroFest, taking place 8-9th February. Visit the UCLan stand on the Upper Floor to find out about our world-leading Astronomy Distance learning courses and try our annual Astro quiz. In addition, UCLan's Brad Gibson will be giving a presentation on Mining the fossil record of the Milky Way in session 3 (Saturday morning) of the conference.
